Cheese for change

Spencer Johnsons “Who moved my cheese?”  became a bestseller when it emerged in 1998 and is still widely read . It´s theme: how to deal with change, is an ever up to date issue.

The head of the Neurological department of the Swedish Academic Hospital, Karin Rudling wanted this cheese story to be staged as a platform for constructive discussions amongst her staff at a time of uncertainty and change. Her wish was granted and the resulting 30-minute piece is something of a “Waiting for Godot”-inspired version of the original text.

The imagary in the story is disarming and engaging. The cheese stands for that which gives meaning to both work and private life, whilst the maze represents the maze of life itself. These images, brought to life  through performance, are apt to blossom into fun, fresh approaches and provide a forum for open and honest discussion related to the process of change.
